High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
HPLC is a form of chromatography that allows separation of complex mixtures based on slight differences in solubility between chemicals. This technique is complementary to GC but is effective when the compounds of interest are not volatile or are thermally labile. MJ Labs has several HPLCs that are configured to separate different types of target molecules on the basis of polarity, ionic strength or size.
HPLC is an excellent screening tool for determination of the percent purity of a material. MJ Labs has extensive experience in developing and analyzing customized methods. HPLC is a technique for the separation and identification of a wide range of analytes using ultraviolet (UV) detection. HPLC provides a general measure of product purity through identification of the number and relative signal strength for the compounds detected.
At MJ labs, reverse phased, normal phased and ion exchange chromatographic techniques can be used to customize HPLC analysis for a specific sample matrix.
Reverse Phase Chromatography (RP) Method Development
This technique can be used to separate, identify and or quantitate components in mixtures of soluble organic components based on their hydrophobicity. Samples are dissolved in a suitable solvent and separated based on their interaction with the column’s stationary phase. Available detection methods include ultraviolet (UV) and refractive index. MJ Labs possess a complete line of reverse phase columns enabling us with unique expertise and access to a wide selection of column stationary phases.
Normal Phase Chromatography (NP) Method Development
This technique can be used to separate mixtures of soluble organic components based on their functional group class. Samples are dissolved in a suitable solvent and separated based on their interaction with the column stationary phase. Available detection methods include ultraviolet (UV) and refractive index. MJ Labs has cyano, phenyl, amino and few other column chemistries available for NP method development. This enables us to cater multiple industries of varied nature.
Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEC) Method Development
This technique can be used to separate mixtures of soluble components based on their charge. Samples are dissolved in a suitable solvent and separated based on their interaction with the column’s stationary phase. Conductivity detector is used for this application. MJ Labs possess these ion exchange columns enabling us with unique expertise and access to a wide selection of column stationary phases.
